Exams and Awards

We regularly hold I.D.T.A. exam sessions here at the Studio. All children are given the opportunity of taking part in these exams, although they are by no means compulsory. Parents often tell us how much these awards encourage their children with their dancing and how much it boosts their self-confidence.

Adults are also able to take I.D.T.A. Exams at the Studio, but would need to take Private Tuition to further their technique to examination level rather than the 'Social Dance Classes' on offer for Adults.

Presentation of Awards

Presentation of the Awards are held approximately one month after the I.D.T.A. Exam session. They are held at either the Bishop Auckland Town Hall or the Shildon Civic Centre. All of the children who have taken an exam are invited along with their family and friends to be presented with their awards.

This is a wonderful evening when you can watch the children 'performing' all of their latest dance moves, or maybe try some of them yourselves!! Children are presented individually with their awards by a local 'personality' or sometimes by the stars of BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing series.
