All of our dance teacher’s are fully qualified with the British Dance Council recognised dance teachers
association, the International Dance Teachers Association (I.D.T.A.) The purpose of taking dance teacher’s
qualifications is to ensure you or your children are being trained safely and correctly. All staff are CRB
checked.
We guarantee that all classes will be taught by a fully qualified dance
teacher

Principals of Richardson’s Dance Studio’s
Gary and Sue have danced and taught extensively in Europe and the U.S.A. and have now returned
to their ‘roots’. Gary teaches primarily at the Birtley, Darlington & Thornaby Studio’s,
whilst Sue teaches at the Bishop Auckland Studio.

Marion Petch – A.I.D.T.A.
Marion has many years of dance experience, originally training at the Doris Spence School of
Dance in Spennymoor. Marion now teaches at the Studio in Bishop Auckland, Birtley and
Thornaby, specialising in the Ballroom and Latin American dance styles.
Marion has recently completed her training for Zumba® – level 1, fitness instructor.

Clare Ellwood – Student/Pre Associate
Clare Ellwood successfully completed her Student Ballroom Exam with the I.D.T.A. and is now
studying for her Associate Ballroom at the Studio in Bishop Auckland.

Brian Ellwood – Studio Photographer
Brian Ellwood of Barrett & Coe photographers in Bishop Auckland has had a long association
